Shannon Overview |
| The Shannon region of Ireland is situated in the west of the Republic by the coast. Shannon is split into two counties Limerick and Clare, it is also home to one of Ireland's major airports. Shannon is a great place to visit with a variety of terrain and some excellent attractions. |

Shannon Essentials |
Ailwee Caves - Situated near Ballyvaughn, these limestone caves should not be missed. There was once an underground river here, but now they are a spectacular sight and great fun to explore.
Cliffs of Moher - The Cliffs of Moher are one of Shannon's biggest draws. They are a breathtaking sight and stand over 200 metres above the sea. The best way to experience the cliffs is to walk along the edge and take in the breathtaking views.
Holycross Abbey - Situated by the River Suir in county Tipperary, Hobbycross Abbey is one of Ireland's most loved attractions. The 12th century monastery features impressive stained glass windows and some beautiful carvings.
Hunt Museum - Situated in Limerick city, the Hunt Museum has over 2,000 pieces. The best collection is that from Medieval times but there are also excellent pieces from the Roman, Greek and Egyptian empires.
