| Dublin has a great system which is worth understanding coz it makes like much easier. Each of the three ring route systems has it’s own colour code: Motorway is blue, Outer city is purple and inner city is light blue. Each junction along any of the ring routes has a number, making it super easy to know when you've reached the right point e.g. Pheonix Park is Junction 65 off the purple route. So you don't have to constantly refer to a map whilst driving - simply look at the map before you set out to determine your destination junction number on either the blue, purple or light blue routes, and follow the signage system to get there. |

Dublin Overview |
Dublin is one of Europe's most vibrant cosmopolitan cities. Right at the centre of Ireland's recent economic boom, it has never been a better time to visit Dublin.
New restaurants, designer stores and boutique hotels now jostle around the historic core which has always made Dublin a popular stop for tourists. Home to literary heavyweights such as Joyce, Wilde, Beckett and Yeats, for most visitors it is Dublin's world-renowned bars and unrelenting party atmosphere which makes Dublin the ultimate place to kick back and have some fun. |

Dublin Essentials |
Trinity College (University of Dublin) - Ireland's top university was founded in 1592 by Elizabeth and is home to one of the world's oldest book - the book of Kells - a stunning 1200 year old manuscript which is always on view to the public. Trinity College is situated in the heart of the city, and the grounds of this beautiful institution should not be missed.
Phoenix Park - Approximately twice the size of Manhattan's central part, Phoenix Park is the perfect place to while away few hours after a heavy day of sightseeing (or to recover after a long night down Temple bar). Phoenix Park houses Dublin Zoo, a castle, several lakes, gardens and a range of sports fields.
Temple Bar - The Temple Bar area is a self contained strip of bars, clubs and restaurants where everyone is catered for. Traditional Irish pubs now nestle next to nouveau cuisine restaurants all brimming with a great atmosphere.
Dublin Castle - Constructed in the 13th Century, Dublin castle is a short walk from Temple Bar. Dublin Castle also contains a Portrait Gallery.
Guinness Storehouse - Situated at St James's Gate Guinness Brewery, the Guinness Storehouse is the only place to learn about the black stuff. Providing a fascinating insight into the history and making of Ireland's biggest export, the onsite museum also provides a comprehensive exhibition of Guinness' advertising along with the opportunity to try a few samples of the great drink |

Dublin Calendar - Pick of the Year's Events |
St Patrick's Day (17th March) - A massive celebration of traditional Irish culture culminating in a large parade on St Stephen's Green.
Bloomsday (16th June) - Celebration of Dubliner James Joyce, author of Ulysees. |
